VISTA Hires Barry Hall as Chief Technology Officer
VISTA, the leading provider of real property management services for improved federal financial performance, has hired Barry Hall for the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Reporting directly to David Baxa, VISTA’s President/CEO, this key executive position is focused on present and future IT-related business initiatives – with particular emphasis on guiding VISTA’s future technology direction and on mentoring and developing the company’s IT technical staff.
VISTA’s Baxa was enthusiastic about the selection of Barry Hall. “While we at VISTA carefully selected Barry through a rigorous interview process with selected members of our technical staff, hiring Barry was also an opportunity to bring back an important member of our staff,” Baxa explained.
Over nearly 20 years in progressively responsible IT positions, Hall has garnered significant experience spanning a wide range of technologies. Hall’s career includes work for VISTA Information Technologies (the former parent company of VISTA Technology Services) and its predecessor companies. In that capacity, he was the lead architect and programmer for the Army Stationing and Installation Plan (ASIP) and was a member of the Army’s Real Property Planning and Analysis System (RPLANS) development team. He has extensive background and knowledge of Army installation management systems and data supporting the Army’s Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) efforts.
More recently, Hall was the Chief Architect in VISTA Information Technology’s Technology Office, responsible for application architecture and integration of the Enterprise Services Platform, providing proactive management and monitoring of customers’ voice and data network assets. He has wide-ranging experience in systems architecture, operating systems, data network, IP and TDM communications, application development and integration, and network management systems. He most recently served as Chief Architect for the Solutions Technology Office of Avaya Global Services.
Hall has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Information Systems, both from George Mason University in Fairfax.
“The position of CTO reports directly to me; it is critical to VISTA’s success,” said Baxa. “I am excited about welcoming Barry back to the VISTA family, and look forward to his contribution to our IT-related business, including the company’s newly awarded contract with the Army to support RPLANS.”
