VISTA Hires Business Development Director

VISTA has hired Steve Darner for the position of Business Development Director. A graduate of Oklahoma State University with a BA in Philosophy and an MBA in Marketing and Finance, Darner has over 20 years experience in federal marketing, sales, business development, and program management. He most recently served as Vice President, Channels with TKC Communications.

In that capacity, Darner created methods to implement federal IT policy through direct interaction with DoD and civilian agency IT Directors, Deputy Directors, Program Mangers, and IT Acquisition Centers. His clients included Defense Contracting Command-Washington (DCCW), Department of State (DOS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), GSA IT Acquisition Center, and DOI GovWorks Federal Acquisition Center, among others.

"We're pleased to be able to add Steve Darner to the VISTA team," said VISTA President and CEO David Baxa. "Steve has deep relationships in the federal marketplace, and his understanding of financial asset management concepts complement VISTA's market-leading reputation for excellence in real property asset management. We look forward to developing strong synergies with Steve in our business development efforts."

Reporting directly to VISTA Vice President of Corporate Development Ray Summerell, Darner's responsibility will include development of new business by creating and maintaining senior-level relationships with federal sector clients, negotiation of contracts, preparations of proposals, financial management and market research.

While at TKC Communications, Darner was responsible for several high-profile contract wins. These included a $200 million open-ended indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract from DOI National Business Center for DoD procurements, and a $100 million open-ended IDIQ contract with DOD Project Contracting Office (PCO) in Baghdad Iraq.

"Steve is the most senior business development professional that VISTA has ever hired to support Ray Summerell's efforts," said VISTA's Baxa. "With his addition to the VISTA team, our company can reflect on the successes of the past year while anticipating an even stronger year in 2007."
