VISTA Reaches Alliance Partner Agreement with Archibus, Inc.

Federal Sector Software Agreement Capitalizes on VISTA's Market Leadership in Compliance Solutions for Federal Real Property Asset Management
Herndon, VA (4 APRIL | 2007) VISTA, the leading provider of real property asset management services to government, has entered into an agreement to become an Alliance Partner with Archibus, Inc., a global provider computer-aided facilities management technologies. The agreement was reached on March 30, 2007.
"This agreement is the perfect fit," said Brad Peterson, Manager of Strategic Accounts and Alliances for Archibus, Inc. "VISTA has demonstrated unmatched leadership in the federal real property asset management marketplace. Their understanding of compliance requirements with initiatives such as Executive Order 13327 and the President's Management Agenda ensure that together we will be able to assist federal agencies in cutting costs and eliminating waste in their real property inventory."
VISTA VP of Corporate Development Ray Summerell agreed. "This partnership leverages our subject matter expertise and our existing technology practice. In addition, it enables ViSTA to better serve its current customer base and to broaden our base of business."
A provider of real property services to government since 1988, VISTA's IT practice focuses on development and modification of automated tools and systems that reinforce best practices, to include management reporting and the use of metrics that enable facilities performance to sustain over time.
As an Alliance Partner for professional services to the federal sector, VISTA's role will be to plan and implement Archibus solutions in federal real property. In that context, VISTA will provide support of Archibus solutions to agencies, and will be involved in Archibus planning and product development to ensure that the software conforms more exactly with federal data reporting requirements.
ViSTA's Summerell concluded that federal agencies must commit themselves to right-sizing their real property inventory. "Federal real property remains on the GAO's high-risk list of areas susceptible to waste, fraud and abuse," he explained. "Waste in real property has real consequences. For example, the Walter Reed Army Medical Center maintained unnecessary real property inventory, and as a result maintenance was deferred on mission-critical facilities. The potential for that type of problem could be minimized with closer scrutiny of the current federal real property inventory - which is why VISTA and Archibus have joined forces to provide our solutions to government agencies."
