VISTA to Present Two Webinars on Real Property and Budgeting

Company Teams with Software Leader Archibus To Provide Real-World Answers to Today's Most Pressing Real Property Problems
Herndon, VA (30 JANUARY | 2007)
Are you interested in learning what your peers find most important about real property asset management - especially in today's difficult budget times?
Each day at 11 AM ET on February 8, 2007 and February 27, 2007, real property asset management experts VISTA (in cooperation with software firm Archibus, Inc.) will offer a new Web-based seminar that explores the changing landscape of real property asset management. VISTA President and CEO David Baxa and VP of Corporate Development Ray Summerell will lead the Webinars.
"With the Federal budget operating under a Continuing Resolution on appropriations, it might be easy to shrug off real property programs as initiatives that simply can no longer be funded," said VISTA's Baxa. "In reality, real property asset management has a material significance to ensuring sound internal accounting processes and controls that are key to clean Federal financial audits.
"Now more than ever Federal financial executives and real property professionals need to understand the bottom-line impact of their inventory of land, buildings and related infrastructure," Baxa added. "It's not just a bill to pay; it's a problem area in Federal budgeting that can be addressed and corrected with a real return on investment."

Federal Real Property Reporting Compliance
Executive Order 13327 on Federal Real Property Asset Management (EO 13327) will have had its third anniversary this February 4. One of the cornerstones of compliance with this Order is the development of an Asset Management Plan (AMP), in which each Department provides specific direction for managing its real property portfolio, including plans for identifying excess property for disposition.
There is considerable variation in how Federal departments and agencies are approaching this requirement. This Webinar looks at the management paradigm shift that must accompany the planning effort in order to be effective.

Real Property Problems and Challenges: A View from the Trenches
In both 2005 and 2006, The Federal Real Property Association (FRPA) and VISTA conducted a survey of current and prospective members to determine the level of Federal agency compliance with Executive Order 13327 on Federal Real Property Asset Management (EO 13327).
This Webinar summarizes the findings of the latest survey. In addition, new questions were introduced to gain a greater understanding of organizations' preparedness to respond to hypothetical changing budgetary requirements.
