VISTAtsi to Showcase Best Practices for Large-Scale Facilities Condition Assessments
Herndon, Virginia (April 1, 2010) -- VISTA Technology Services, Inc. (VISTAtsi), a recognized leader in decision support systems and services for business and government, will be a featured presenter at the 2010 National Training Conference for Federal Planners. The conference will be hosted in New Orleans, Louisiana at the New Orleans Convention Center on April 6-9, 2010. VISTAtsi’s session entitled “Large-Scale Facilities Condition Assessments: A Key to Sustainable Development Patterns in Federal Facilities” will be presented Thursday, April 8th from 2:40 PM to 3:40 PM CST.
“This panel discussion will articulate a process that has been used with success in the Army for well over a decade,” remarked VISTAtsi President and CEO David B. Baxa. “Successful planning for portfolio sustainment requires that the existing inventory of facilities be measured with recurring annual frequency. Our approach with the U.S. Army is an annual portfolio-wide snapshot that can be accomplished with predictable, high quality and useable results.”
VISTAtsi assists with annual facilities condition assessments of all Army facilities to help create baseline information that drives operations and maintenance budgets while supporting priorities for major component renewal and overall portfolio sustainability. The FPD presentation will explain how the Army innovates and accomplishes this work. Attendees will learn the fundamental steps in conducting large scale and multiple location condition assessments that are proved to deliver consistent high quality results in implementation that directly benefit best value sustainment priorities.
“Planners most often do not have a reliable tool for this work and they lack a process that can be accomplished at extremely low costs and with predictable high quality results,” noted panelist John Bartoli, VISTAtsi Installation Status Report (ISR) Team Lead. “The Army’s method for this work is within the public domain and can be used by any federal agency or department.”
Bartoli will be presenting with client representative David Leinberger, Army HQ USA, Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management (OACSIM), Installation Status Report (ISR) Program Manager.
